OUR STORY
In 1968, W.E. Curtis started a small metal building manufacturing company that, a few years later, would become Tyler Building Systems. Located in Tyler, Texas, the intention of the business was to provide metal buildings to companies operating in the booming east Texas oil fields. R.C. “Bobby” Curtis became President of the company in 1971 and changed the company name to Tyler Building Systems. Mr. Curtis slowly began extending the business territory beyond the Tyler, Texas area. More importantly, by shrewdly investing in the latest technology and attracting dedicated personnel he steadily expanded the engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the company. Mr. Curtis recognized that metal buildings would evolve from their limited industrial beginnings to be the primary form of low-rise construction in the United States today.
Tyler Building System is still owned by the Curtis family and remains under the leadership of Bobby Curtis. Bobby’s son, Brad Curtis, joined the company in 1991 and is now the Operations Manager. He represents the third generation of the Curtis family to work at Tyler Building Systems. Most importantly, Tyler Building Systems continues to attract a large family of talented employees who are dedicated to providing top-quality services and products to our customers. Tyler Building Systems is ideally sized to provide personal service while simultaneously maintaining the ability to provide metal building systems of all sizes and shapes.
